Our main speaker will be SANDAG Executive Director Hasan Ikhrata.  Ikhrata previously served as the top official at the Southern California Association of Governments before taking over SANDAG late last year.  Ikhrata advocates a bold new vision for transit in San Diego county. As he told the Union Tribune:

“’In the next two to three years, if we don’t have a vision for the San Diego region to change the debate that means I did not succeed. It’s a free-market economy, but you can’t expect people to leave their car in the garage when they have no other (viable) option.”

We will also be voting to determine who, if anyone, receives our Club's endorsement in the District 1 City Council race. We have invited all candidates to attend.  The four candidates are: Aaron Brennan, Joe LaCava, Will Moore, and Louis Rodolico.  Candidates have been invited to give a brief statement and answer any questions you may have.

Club members who have been members for at least 60 days and are in good standing are eligible to vote.  A candidate needs 60% of the vote to win the endorsement.  Our by-laws are posted on our website here.  If you have paid your dues since 5/1/2018 you are in good standing.  If you need to renew your membership you may do so online here or you may also bring a check to the meeting.  If you are unsure about your membership status feel free to email me at [email protected].
