March 26 Monthly Meeting

When: Tuesday, March 26that 6:00 pm

Where: Mason Ale Works Tasting Room + Kitchen

5550 Carmel Mountain Rd Suite #113

Our meeting at the MASON ALE WORKS TASTING ROOM + KITCHEN late last year was such a success we decided to do it again.  Arrive a bit early to take advantage of their Taco Tuesday, 2 tacos and a beer for 10 bucks, special (or other menu items) and then stay for the great program we have planned:

Olga Diaz, a 2020 candidate for our San Diego County Supervisor seat will introduce herself, her campaign and answer any questions we have.  Flipping this seat will be a big part of finally having a majority Democratic County Board of Supervisors and we intend to focus a lot of attention on this race.  Another Democratic candidate, Terra Lawson-Remer will be joining us in April. If others jump in the race we will extend invitations.

For the main part of our program we are very lucky to have Sophie Wolfram, Director of Programs for Climate Action Campaign.  Climate Action Change is a local organization with a simple mission: stop climate change through local climate policy.  As they write on their website, “We're building change from the ground up - shifting culture, democratizing power, and building a future in which all communities are safe and healthy places to live, work, and play.”  Sophie will speak about progress toward the city's climate action goals, Community Choice Energy, recent developments at SANDAG, and the San Diego Green New Deal.

No better way to spend a Tuesday night than learning about the Green New Deal while eating delicious tacos!  We look forward to seeing you on the 26th!
