The Carmel Valley Democratic Club is very proud to announce that our June meeting will feature a panel of San Diego DACA recipients.  These brave Dreamers will share their personal stories, discuss their activism goals and share ways we can help make sure these Americans can stay here and keep contributing to this country. 

We are very grateful to the organization San Diego Border Dreamers who have partnered with us. Their mission is: …promote the dignity and respect of all immigrants. We seek to advance the civil and human rights of all immigrants. We strive to up-lift our border community’s voice to educate about the difficulties immigrants face living in our bordertown.”

The Dreamer issue is closely tied to one dominating the news these days: family separations.  We have reached out to several groups organizing around the Keeping Families Together issue and will have an update on things that are happening in that fight. 

We will conclude the meeting with an action: postcards and stamps will be handed out for members to write to their elected officials urging them to fight for both the Dreamers and for families being separated at the border.
