We are very lucky to be hosting our very own city council member & San Diego mayoral candidate Barbara Bry.  She will give us a district one update and take questions as well.  We will also be joined by District 3 San Diego Country Board of Supervisor candidate Jeff Griffith.  (The other two Democratic candidates Olga Diaz and Terra Lawson-Remer spoke at previous meetings.)  CV Dems will be focusing on this seat and defeating Trump/ Border Wall fan Kristin Gaspar in November of 2020.

2018 showed us that there is no more effective way to get people to the polls than canvassing for our favorite candidates.  Many of us still feel uncomfortable knocking on doors, even in our own neighborhood.  Our Vice-President, and experienced canvasser, Will Moore will lead a brief Canvasing 101.  Several of our members who got out for the first time in 2018 will be there to answer any questions or concerns.

We are asking attendees to bring new underwear, bras and undershirts for men, women and children to the meeting. The Carmel Valley Dems will be participating in State Senator Toni Atkins' fundraiser called Skivvies for Stand Down.  The items will be donated to the Stand Down event which is an annual three-day event run by Veterans Village of San Diego where struggling military veterans can access services, bond with one another and get some much-deserved rest and relaxation.
