Another month, another exciting ZOOM meeting from the Carmel Valley Democrats.  I am so pleased that our featured guest for July is Carmel Valley resident, attorney and civil rights activist Andrea St Julian. Some of the highlights of her very impressive resume:

• president of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association (EBGBA.org). This bar association serves the interests of African-American attorneys in San Diego County;
• principle author of the proposed charter amendment to create a Commission on Police Practices that will soon be placed on the November ballot. Correspondingly, I am co-chair of SanDiegansforJustice.com, the PAC that supports the charter amendment.
•  co-founder and board president of Community Advocates for Just and Moral Governance (MoGo). (See MoralGovernance.org.) MoGo is a nonprofit dedicated to holding government accountable on such issues as racial injustice; and,
• on the board of the ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties.

We will also be doing an endorsement vote for Democratic Candidate Terra Lawson-Remer for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.  Lawson-Remer won the primary in March and is the only Democratic candidate on the ballot in November.
